Vintage Art Deco Oval Beaded Box Purse 1950s - USA. Amazing iridescent black seed beads cover this oval-shaped box purse with a linear pattern on the body of the purse. Lined with black satin with one slip pocket. The soft handles are twisted and flare to the side of purse lid. The amber/butterscotch-colored lucite/acetate lid has flat nail heads with art deco-like push clasp. These mid-century purses came in various shapes. Beautiful conversation piece.
Preowned in good vintage condition consistent with age. Light scuffs on lid; clasp has tarnish; no mirror on inside (glue residue apparent). Beads are intact and secure. No stains or odor on interior - non-smoking home. No label inside - brass-type clasp suggests M.E. Product rather than Fre-Mor. Any comments welcome. Measures approx 7"L and 3.5" W, 5" H.
